GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
1.Responsible for achieving the assigned sales forecast(s) for stringed instruments and stringed accessories for dealer accounts, as well as any other specific sales forecast as defined from time to time. This position is also responsible for establishing and coordinating all marketing functions within the stringed instrument & accessory category (plan, analyze, organize, promote, and implement marketing and product development programs to achieve the company’s short and long range business development objectives in accordance with company policies and sound business practices.

SPECIFIC DUTIES:
1.Travel to key dealer accounts and string shops to promote sales and image of Conn-Selmer, Inc. string instruments and accessories.
2.Promote string products to assigned dealer accounts participating in clinics, attending festivals and teacher workshops, conducting special promotions and displaying exhibits.
3.Travel with District Sales Managers within their territory to promote the Conn-Selmer string line.
4.Evaluate product quality, features, and aesthetics to meet market needs and Conn-Selmer’s sales and margin goals. Coordinate the company’s future market growth plans with regard to products, services, and markets.
5.Oversee and evaluate market research, including financial, technological, and demographic factors and adjust marketing strategy to meet changing market and competitive conditions.
6.Develop and communicate advertising, collateral, and artist strategy.
7.Assist key dealers in the area of sales training and product knowledge and inform dealers of current and relevant Company policies and programs.
8.Prepare orders in accordance with current Company policies and submit via postal service or electronically.
9.Develop and recommend product position, pricing, and program strategy to assure profitability and market share.
10.Assist with forecasting and monitoring operating budget.
11.Prepare weekly call reports that detail the sales activity for the week. At the Company’s request, submit reports pertaining to sales forecasts, specific sales plans, and market analysis.
12.Responsible for maintaining accurate records as to the location of consignment account sales samples. Sales samples will be sold periodically in accordance with Company’s consignment account policy.
13.Assist the Credit Department in collection of delinquent accounts and other credit functions.
14.Attend State/MEA meetings as well as other industry meetings of a Regional or National nature as requested.

PRE-DETERMINED QUALIFICATIONS:
1.Bachelor degree with emphasis in music, business, and/or marketing.
2.A minimum of 3 years successful sales and marketing experience, preferable in the string industry.
3.Excellent communication, planning, organization, selling, management skills.
4.A self-starter with the ability to work in a team environment.
5.Ability to analyze and organize recommendations from a wide range of sources and present ideas to management.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
1.Requires traveling up to 70% of the time.
2.Lifting of instruments/accessories – 20 to 50 pounds
