The Oregon Crusaders, Oregon’s Major League Team in Marching Music, received the top marching brass honors at the Drum Corps International (DCI) Open Class competition on Tuesday, August 7th in Michigan City, Indiana with a score of 19.40 in brass performance. With their 2012 program “Dreaming in Color,” Oregon Crusaders went on to the world class competition where they received 18th place for their brass performance.
Conn-Selmer was honored to be featured in an article in the August issue of Music Trades Magazine. The story focused on Conn-Selmer’s focus on US manufacturing and an alignment of new resources centered on its dealer partners.
Conn-Selmer is proud to announce the first recipient of the Artist Centerstage Lifetime Achievement Award, Wayne Jackson. Wayne received this honor during a presentation ceremony at the 2012 Conn-Selmer Institute on June 11th, via simulcast to the over 400 attendees. The Institute was held in Mishawaka, Indiana at the Bethel College.
The Canadian Brass was invited to perform at the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in Cleveland, Ohio in June as part of the 2nd Annual Conn-Selmer Dealer Leadership Event. The closed hall performance was set on the center stage in the main concourse of the hall with over 100 representatives of Conn-Selmer’s top dealers from around the US and Canada present.
Conn-Selmer would like to congratulate the Blue Devils, Oregon Crusaders, Sacramento Mandarins, Spartans, Pioneer, 7th Regiment, and Blue Saints on the completion of their 2012 DCI Season. These corps have all chosen exclusively King System Blue and Ultimate Marching Brass instruments.

Conn-Selmer Inc., in conjunction with master flutemakers Laura and Bickford Brannen, is pleased to announce the continuation of the Avanti Fund Scholarship program for 2012. Two sets of scholarships will be provided by the Avanti Fund, which was created by the Brannens who, along with Conn-Selmer engineers and flutemakers, developed the Avanti Flute line.
