Rebecca Hovan teaches at Indiana University South Bend and Goshen College. She is a member of the National Flute Association and is currently the Masterclass Performers Competition Coordinator. She also served the NFA as Chair of the Pedagogy Committee for five years and participated in the preparation of several of the Committee\'s publications including Selected Flute Repertoire and Studies: A Graded Guide (2009). Rebecca is also co-author of several titles in the award-winning Blocki Flute Method series. She also remains active composing and arranging music for a variety of instrumental combinations and has several titles in print including Wedding Collection for Flute and Violin as well as selections from her CD, A Silver Christmas. As a performer, she appears regularly in recital and with various ensembles in the Northern Indiana area and has appeared on programs at NFA convention and other professional music conferences and festivals. Rebecca was a winner in the National Flute Associations Masterclass Competition in 1985. She has presented numerous pedagogy workshops for the NFA, colleges and universities, professional conferences, and flute festivals throughout the United States, and she is a Conn-Selmer Artist/Clinician. Her training includes a Master of Music from the University of North Texas where she was a Teaching Fellow in Flute and studied with Mary Karen Clardy. Most recently, she subbed in the pit for the national tour of Beauty and the Beast in December and January, 2013.
